DEKALB COUNTY, Ga. — The DeKalb County Police Department is investigating the death of an infant found at a townhome community.
According to police, officers got to a location on Eastwyck Circle around 3 p.m. after receiving calls about a dead infant.
Members of the DeKalb County Medical Examiner’s Office went to the scene to assist.
Channel 2’s Tom Regan went to the scene and saw crime scene tape up and investigators examining what appeared to be a commercial dumpster on site.

Both agencies are investigating the circumstances surrounding the infant’s death.
At this time, the investigation is still in its early stages, police said, and no information about the death is available for release.
The child was not identified.
Separately, DeKalb police said a man who was at that location was taken into custody on unrelated failure to appear warrants from another case.
The department said his arrest is not related to the investigation into the infant’s death, at this time. The man was not identified.
