DOOLY COUNTY, Ga. — Investigators have charged a woman with murder after discovering human remains in the search for a missing 4-year-old boy in Vienna, Ga.
The boy’s mother, Keara Cotton, has been arrested on multiple charges including murder, concealing the death of another and two counts of cruelty to children.
Keara Cotton was initially reported missing along with her son, Jayceon Mathis. Family members reported that they hadn’t seen the 4-year-old for several months.
A missing person report was filed for Cotton and Mathis on Jan. 20. Cotton was later found and arrested.
On Tuesday, the Georgia Bureau of Investigation announced that they obtained information that led to the discovery of human remains in Cordele. The body has not been identified.
