The owners of Reid’s Deli told Channel 2 Cobb County Bureau Chief Michele Newell that they are heartbroken to learn one of their employees, who they say worked at this place for years, is now accused of stealing from them.

Cobb County police said William Horton was not on the clock when he showed up to his job, and helped the man who broke into the deli, get away with paychecks and cash.

Horton, the now former employee, helped the accused burglar get away, according to police. Police charged Horton with burglary in the second degree.

“It’s upsetting that we give so much back to the community, we do a lot of fundraisers here and someone would do that to us,” said Reid’s Deli shift manager, Allie Harris.
