CHAMBLEE, Ga. — As Hispanic Heritage Month begins, Channel 2 Action News is taking a look at families who started a business and turned it into an economic engine.

Channel 2’s Jorge Estevez spent the day with a woman whose family expanded the tradition of Western wear and what it means for the culture and north Georgia community.
Rosi Ramos is the owner and founder of Laredo Western Wear. Boots may be her business, but selling her culture is her passion.

“I’m happy because the people say, ”Oh, thank you for your help. I feel perfect,’" Ramos said.
The family business at Plaza Fiesta on Buford Highway is celebrating 30 years of combining her Mexican culture with cowboy apparel.
Outside of her store, Ramos gives back to the community at several events year-round. She’s also on the board of the Latin American Chamber of Commerce.
Her best piece of advice for starting a Western wear collection? A good pair of quality boots you can keep forever.
