LAGRANGE, Ga. — LaGrange police are investigating a motive for a triple shooting at an apartment complex Monday night, that killed two young men and left a teen wounded.

They responded to several 911 calls about multiple shots fired at the complex on Hogansville Road around 9 p.m. One of the calls came from the apartment where the shootings took place.
“The 911 caller had stepped out of the apartment and placed a call to 911 about one of subjects acting erratically inside the apartment, and then the gunfire started,” LaGrange Police Chief Garrett Fiveash told Channel 2’s Tom Regan.
When police arrived, they found a man, later identified as Drevion Brewer, shot to death outside.
Inside the apartment, they discovered a second man, Amarious Williams, shot multiple times. He later died at a local hospital.
A 16-year-old male also was found outside, who had suffered a gunshot wound. A neighbor say he rushed to help the teen while waiting for paramedics and police to arrive.
“He was up by the dumpster there. And he’s got a gunshot wound to his leg. I saw the blood and rendered aid until they got there and called 911,” said neighbor Clay Pierce.
Some neighbors says shooting in the apartment complex are becoming more common and the worry about their safety.
“In all honesty, despite the fact that I didn’t know the people who were killed, I am very distraught. Because of the shooting, I just don’t feel safe in this neighborhood,” said neighbor Veronica Ward.
Another neighbor says she’s upset over what she sees as another senseless shooting.

“What kind of anger, where they’re so mad they would have to kill. Is it worth dying for?” said neighbor Tasha James.
Detectives identified Joshua Preston as a suspect in this incident. Police found Preston and took him into custody.
Preston was charged with the following crimes: two counts of malice murder, aggravated assault and possession of a firearm during the commission of a crime with more charges expected to be filed.
This investigation remains active and ongoing.
