HENRY COUNTY, Ga. — A community in Henry County has been without power since Saturday night.
And Georgia Power says some will likely still be waiting for power to be restored Monday.

The Eagles Landing Country Club in Henry County is currently experiencing a power outage that neighbors tell Channel 2 Action News began on Saturday night around 7 p.m.
A Georgia Power spokesman confirmed the outage, saying the issue was due to equipment failure caused by a truck hitting the transformer at the community. It impacted around 900 customers.
“The power went out to be about 95% of our community, 877 homes, 14 miles of road, so you get a sense,” said Brenda Culpepper, the Eagles Landing Property Owner Association president.

Culpepper told Channel 2’s Eryn Rogers there are a lot of seniors in the community, so she’s concerned about them in the heat and with no power to operate medical devices.
She also said people in the community pay a substantial amount for their power bills.
“My bill is $800 a month,” Culpepper said. “That’s somebody’s rent, and a lot of these residents pay that kind of money, and you’d expect to be able to have power or an answer to a question.”
Power was briefly restored a few times throughout the day, but it went out again.
Georgia Power has crews on scene to complete repairs now.
A Georgia Power spokesperson issued an updated statement about the outage, saying power to about half the homes have been restored.
We appreciate how difficult it is to be without power any time. Georgia Power crews have been on scene safely making repairs throughout the day, working multiple equipment failures due to an auto accident late last night causing an outage for about 900 customers in Henry County. Approximately 490 customers are currently without power. Crews have provided an estimated restoration time for all customers of 12 p.m. on August 24, 2026.
