CLAYTON COUNTY, Ga. — Clayton County Public Schools will hold an Extending Learning Beyond the Classroom Day on Monday. All students in grades Pre-K through 12 will learn independently from home while district employees report to work.
The remote learning day is designed to give teachers dedicated time for professional development, collaborative planning and instructional work while students complete assignments from home.
Meal service procedures were adjusted in advance of the remote learning day.
The district’s Nutrition Department distributed sack lunches on Friday, Aug. 21, 2026, for students to take home. The meal bags contain lunch only, with no breakfast to be provided on Monday.

Assignments vary by grade level based on technology access. Because students in grades Pre-K through eight do not receive district-issued individual devices, teachers distributed printed learning assignments prior to the schedule change.
Supplemental digital resources were also offered where appropriate.
High school students are accessing assigned coursework electronically or through printed materials.
