Railroad crossings reopen in metro Atlanta city after train malfunction

MCDONOUGH, Ga. — UPDATE: The train has been moved and all railroad crossings have reopened.

If you need to go across a train crossing Wednesday morning in the city of McDonough, you’re going to need to find a different route to get where you need to go.

According to McDonough police, all train crossings in the city are blocked by a train that is not currently able to move.

At this time police say they do not know when the train will be moved off of the tracks.

Police say they have spoken with Norfolk Southern who only told them there was a “train malfunction”.

Channel 2 Action News has reached out to Norfolk Southern to try and get some more information.
