‘Armed and dangerous’: Authorities searching for man accused of shooting at Bartow County deputies

BARTOW COUNTY, Ga. — Bartow County deputies and the Georgia Bureau of Investigation are searching wooded areas around Allatoona Lake near Acworth for a wanted man who they say shot at them Tuesday night.

Deputies say they were called out to 137 Mountain View Road around 8:50 p.m. after receiving calls about 39-year old Justin Green, Authorities say Green lived in a building on the property. They say Green was reportedly drunk and shooting a gun on the property when they got a 9-1-1 call.

Deputies say Green began shooting at them when they pulled up and according to the GBI, the deputies shot back.

According to investigators, Green is wanted for multiple misdemeanor and felony warrants including aggravated assault on a law enforcement officer, possession of a firearm during the commission of a crime and possession of a firearm by a convicted felon.

Bartow County deputies set up a perimeter and searched for Green Tuesday night after he ran into the wooded area behind the property he lived on but at this time, haven’t been able to find him.

Bartow County deputies and the GBI both consider Green is armed and dangerous and say that you should not approach him. The Sheriff’s Office asks anyone who may encounter or see him to call 9-1-1 immediately. Or anyone who sees Green can contact the GBI at 1-800-597-TIPS (8477).
