HALL COUNTY, Ga. — A school bus hit a kindergartner when officials say she was trying to catch the bus.
Hall County School officials said at 7:30 a.m. Wednesday, a student who had missed being picked up by the bus was being driven by her parent to another bus stop.

When the student arrived at the next bus stop, the parent was behind a school bus at the intersection of Dogwood Street and Williams Street.
The student got out of the car and ran to catch the bus but was hit by the back of the bus as it was turning to go to the next stop.

Officials said the bus driver was unaware that the student had been hit and returned to the accident scene when she was informed of what had happened.
Medical officials checked the student out and determined that she was OK.
Georgia State Patrol officials determined that the driver did not need to be cited in the accident.

At the time of the accident, school officials said 30 Lynman Hall Elementary School students were on the bus.
No other students were injured.
The identities of those involved were not released.
