GWINNETT COUNTY, Ga. — A car fire caused a family’s home to go up in flames Wednesday night.
Gwinnett County Fire told Channel 2 Action News at 10:04 p.m. crews received reports of a house fire on Laurelton Circle.

When crews arrived, the residents told firefighters that their car was on fire.
The homeowners told crews they came home two hours before the fire began and put their three children to bed.

Once in bed, one of the children noticed a popping sound from the garage and woke the parents.
All five of the residents escaped before the crews arrived. No injuries were reported.

According to fire investigators, the fire was caused by combustible material close to a heat source, a vehicle parked inside the garage.
Officials ruled the fire as an accident.
It is unclear if the family is displaced or not.
