FLAGLER COUNTY, Fla. — A Georgia man wanted on fraud charges was arrested in Florida after deputies spotted him walking along a Palm Coast roadway, according to the Flagler County Sheriff’s Office.
Deputies stopped two men around shortly before 11 p.m. Wednesday, August 19, as they walked along the Matanzas Woods Parkway overpass.

One of the men was identified as 31-year-old Antonio Malik Carter of Acworth, Georgia. Deputies determined Carter was wanted in Georgia for failure to appear on charges including identity fraud, financial transaction card fraud and theft of lost or mislaid property.
Deputies gave Carter a verbal warning for the pedestrian violation and did not charge the other man.

Flagler County Sheriff Rick Staly had a blunt message for Carter.
“Flagler County is not a hideout. If you skip out on a judge in Georgia and think you can disappear on our streets, you picked the wrong county to walk through,” Staly said. “Now he’s going to stay in the Green Roof Inn until we can put his butt on next prison bus to Georgia.”
Carter was arrested as a fugitive from justice on the outstanding Georgia warrant.
He was taken to the Sheriff Perry Hall Inmate Detention Facility, where he is being held without bond while awaiting extradition to Georgia.
