WALTON COUNTY, Ga. — Baltimore Ravens player and Georgia native Rashod Bateman is facing charges over an incident earlier this summer involving his child’s mother, Channel 2 Action News has learned.
Bateman, 26, was arrested in Walton County after a June 3 incident in which he’s accused of smashing a car’s windshield with his child still inside.

According to arrest warrants, Bateman is accused of breaking the windshield of a 2021 Mercedes-Benz while his 3-month-old child and child’s mother were still inside. The mother reportedly had several cuts because of the broken glass.
Bateman is also accused of trying to puncture one of the tires with a screwdriver.
Warrants charge him with family violence - battery, reckless conduct and felony criminal property damage.

Court records show he was released on an $8,000 bond.
Channel 2 Action News reached out to Bateman’s attorney representing him on the criminal charges and was told that he would not comment while the case was pending.
He did share a statement from Bateman’s personal attorney who called the situation “unfortunate.”

The Baltimore Ravens also shared a statement saying they are aware of the situation.
“We are aware of the situation involving Rashod and have been in direct communication with him. We notified the league office and have been cooperating throughout the process. As this is a pending legal matter, we will not have further comment.”
