GRAY, Ga. — The city of Gray in middle Georgia is experiencing a widespread water disruption that has left residents with low water pressure or complete outages, leading to a boil water advisory.
Jones County Schools are closed Monday, Sept. 21, because of the ongoing system failure.

Municipal crews are working to identify the source of the water system issue.
Under the advisory, residents must boil all water before drinking, cooking, brushing teeth or any other consumption.
To preserve emergency response capabilities during the disruption, the Gray Fire Department staged fire apparatus at local nursing homes and other designated areas of need.

City officials urged residents to limit non-essential water usage as service and pressure are restored. Lowering consumption helps reduce demand on the system while repair efforts continue.
Residents with questions regarding outages or the advisory may contact the City of Gray Water Department.
The boil water advisory is expected to remain in effect until at least Tuesday.
