ATLANTA — Atlanta Gas Light crews finished repairing a broken gas line in Midtown. The leak forced people from their homes, and shut down parts of Penn Ave. and Argonne Ave.
Atlanta Gas Light tells Channel 2 Action News this is not a leak, and construction crews cut the two inch line.
Penn Ave. was closed from 6th St. to 8th St. and Argonne Ave is closed 7th St. to 10th St.
Martha Deluca was one of the homeowners evacuated during the gas leak.
"They said oh you can't go here. You can't go inside your house," Deluca said.
Tony Martinez was doing some renovations to a home on Penn Ave.
When Martinez returned from his lunch break, emergency crews wouldn't let him in.
Neighbors tell Channel 2 Action News, the city was doing some work on some underground pipes when all of this happened.
All roads in the area have been reopened.
