Student found with weapon at Fulton County high school

FULTON COUNTY, Ga. — A weapon was confiscated from a student at a Fulton County high school campus Tuesday, according to school officials.

Langston Hughes High School Principal Dr. Darrell Stephens notified parents and guardians about the incident in a letter to the school community.

According to Stephens, administrators received information that a student was believed to have a weapon on campus.

School administration immediately investigated the report and quickly confiscated the weapon without incident, Stephens said.

The student will face appropriate disciplinary consequences under Fulton County Schools policies and the district’s Student Code of Conduct.

“We commend our students and staff for promptly reporting concerns and helping us maintain a safe learning environment,” Stephens said.

He encouraged members of the school community to continue reporting any safety concerns to school administrators.
