The kids were in the woods at the back of the family’s property when suddenly two German shepherds escaped from a fence at a neighbor’s yard and went after them.

“They were essentially hunted down by these loose dogs,” said Jessi Asmundson, their mother.

She and father Sean Asmundson say their son got away and ran to get help.

Sean ran into the woods to his daughter.

“These two dogs jumped on her and knocked her back, and I started yelling and screaming to kind of get them away,” he said.

He says dogs had ripped off his daughter’s clothes. She was covered in blood and gouging bite wounds.

“She kept asking four or five times if she was going to die. It was a really tough moment, and I kept telling her, ‘Not with me here,’” her father said.
