FULTON COUNTY, Ga. — Roswell fire officials are investigating an early morning apartment fire.

Authorities told Channel 2 Action News crews received reports of a fire at the Atlanta Newtown apartments on Nesbit Ferry Road in Roswell early Saturday.
When crews arrived, they found large flames inside the apartment building.

Officials said five apartments were destroyed, leaving 13 people without a home.
“Today’s incident is a reminder of the importance of prompt response and coordinated efforts of our North Fulton County public safety agencies,” said Roswell Fire Chief Joe Pennino. “I am proud of the quick and efficient action taken by our firefighters and the assistance provided by our neighboring departments to contain the fire and minimize the damage.”
The cause of the fire is still under investigation.
