FORSYTH COUNTY, Ga. — A mother’s brief stop at a daycare took an unexpected turn when she returned to find her car missing.

Forsyth County deputies said the woman had left her car running while dropping off her child at Primrose School on Aug. 17. Deputies said a man allegedly got into the unattended vehicle and drove away.
Deputies quickly began searching for the stolen car and soon got a break in the case.

The victim had left her AirPods inside the car, allowing deputies to track its location. Investigators also obtained video from a nearby Tesla that captured clear images of the suspect.
Using the location data, deputies tracked the vehicle to the entrance of a local subdivision, where they say the suspect had abandoned it and run away.
As deputies searched the area, they spotted a man matching the individual seen in the Tesla footage. He was then arrested.
The stolen vehicle was recovered and returned to its owner.
The sheriff’s office did not release the suspect’s name or say what charges he may face.
