DEKALB COUNTY, Ga. — Agents said the trio has robbed two banks in DeKalb County and possibly a third in Cobb County Tuesday, along with a carwash in northeast Atlanta.
FBI agents said the bureau believes the three masked men have unmasked themselves when they used a bank card stolen from a woman. They robbed the woman Aug. 2, and then together, they walked into Kroger on Caroline Street in northeast Atlanta and used her bank card.
The agent said the men are in a crew linked to at least four and possibly as many as seven robberies total.
FBI agent Steve Emmett said other than a mugshot, photos of two of the men are among the clearest he has seen of criminals. He hopes with the help of the public, their mugshots will be taken soon.
Two or three of the men in the Kroger surveillance photos are suspected of robbing a Wells Fargo on Peachtree Road in Brookhaven July 1, a Navy Federal Credit Union on Briarcliff Road Aug. 12 , and a Soap Hand Carwash on Cheshire Bridge Road Aug. 5.
Emmett said a Regions Bank robbery on Cumberland Parkway hours before his interview with Channel 2’s Mark Winne Tuesday had many similarities to the robbers’ previous crimes.
Anyone who recognizes any of the three people in the surveillance pictures should contact the FBI at 404-679-9000.
