TROUP COUNTY, Ga. — The Georgia State Patrol is investigating a multiple vehicle crash that resulted in two people, including a deputy, being airlifted to the hospital.
On Thursday morning at 5:30 a.m., a Coweta County Patrol vehicle was driving north on I-85 when it lost control, left the roadway and drove into the median.

The patrol vehicle got back on the road and began overturning.
The deputy was ejected but was helped to the emergency lane by other motorists.
As this was happening, a tractor-trailer was driving north approaching the blacked-out patrol vehicle. While the tractor-trailer was slowing down, a Toyota Corolla hit the tractor-trailer from behind.

After that, an Infiniti that was driving north hit the front of the patrol vehicle that side-swiped the tractor-trailer.
The Coweta Deputy and the driver of the 2010 Toyota Corolla were airlifted to a medical center.
