Worker hurt in fire at metro Atlanta Cheesecake Factory

DEKALB COUNTY, Ga. — A worker was taken to the hospital after being injured in a fire at The Cheesecake Factory at Perimeter Mall on Wednesday.

DeKalb County Fire Rescue crews said the fire was found toward the rear exterior of the restaurant.

A Channel 2 photographer at the scene saw fire trucks, an ambulance and staff and guests waiting outside the restaurant.

Firefighters quickly put the blaze out, which was limited to the building’s exterior.

One employee was injured, evaluated on the scene and taken to the hospital.

The restaurant is closed while it’s being repaired, The Cheesecake Factory’s corporate office confirmed in an update.

In a statement, Alethea Rowe, senior director for Public Relations & Global Branding at The Cheesecake Factory Inc., told Channel 2 Action News: “Earlier today, a fire occurred near the rear exterior of our Perimeter restaurant. One of our staff members sustained a minor injury and received medical attention. We are grateful to the local fire department for its prompt response and are working closely with officials. The restaurant is currently closed while repairs are being made.”
