ATLANTA, Ga. — Brice Williams returned home after working a 10-hour shift Monday to find an apartment with bare floors and blank walls.
“I walked into my apartment, and I saw that everything was missing,” Williams said.

The televisions, furniture, electronics, keepsakes and personal belongings that filled his apartment were gone.
He told Channel 2 Action News that he is missing personal notes from teachers, memorabilia from childhood sports, and keepsakes that cannot be replaced.
“I didn’t know what to think. I didn’t know if I got robbed; nobody was trying to give me a clear answer, so I didn’t know what was going on,” Williams said.

However, Williams would go downstairs to find his stuff tossed in the dumpster, like trash.
“There is a lot of stuff I worked my whole life for, and to see it thrown away is really sad,” Williams said.
According to Williams and his family, workers at the apartment complex intended to evict a squatter in another unit but mistakenly emptied his apartment instead.
“Just knowing that a person can make a mistake and throw your whole life away,” Williams said. “The place that I live in and the place I built, and now it just feels like space with nothing in it,” Williams said.
Channel 2 Action News called the apartment complex three times seeking an explanation of how the apparent mistake occurred and what steps are being taken to help Williams recover his losses. The complex hung up each time.
Channel 2’s Michael Doudna reached out to the management company, which said they will likely have a response on Wednesday.
