DEKALB COUNTY, Ga. — A sixth-grade student at Peachtree Middle School has died, a spokesperson for the Dekalb County School District has confirmed.

The school district didn’t disclose the circumstances behind the death of Emmanuela Datsa.

In a statement, the school district said:

The entire DeKalb County School District community, and especially the Peachtree Middle School family, mourns the passing of a sixth-grade student. Our hearts and prayers are with the family during this difficult time.

Grief counselors were available to students and staff members at Peachtree Middle following the student’s passing.
