Woman in custody for setting fire to DeKalb County Family Dollar

DEKALB COUNTY, Ga. — DeKalb County fire investigators have found a woman they believe was shown in a video earlier this week walking through a Family Dollar store and setting it on fire.

DeKalb County Fire Rescue released a video showing a suspect walking through the store May 2 and getting something out of the cooler.

Employees said they watched her set fire to products on store shelves.

The fire caused “complete inventory loss” at the store on 5404 Covington Highway. Smoke even caused damage to neighboring businesses.

Authorities said she was also seen shouting terroristic threats while walking through the parking lot.

At this time, investigators haven’t released the woman’s name, only that she’s in custody.
