DeKalb County police confirmed to Channel 2 Action News that a 5-year-old girl died in a shooting Friday afternoon.
Channel 2′s Tyisha Fernandes is outside the home on Madras Court in Lithonia. Police said the shooting happened around 3:30 p.m. Friday. The child was found shot in the face and taken to a hospital where she died.
Police at the scene told Fernandes the shooting appears to be accidental. The shooting remains under investigation.
