COBB COUNTY, Ga. — A Cobb County man was taken into custody after drivers told authorities he threatened them, pointed a gun at them, followed them and detained them with his car in the early morning hours Sunday.

Channel 2 Action News found two separate incidents in the warrant where drivers accused James Cooper of following them.
The incidents apparently happened between around 4:40 a.m. to nearly 5 a.m. at two separate locations.
One of the victims told Cobb County investigators that Cooper followed them from the Johnson Ferry Road and Woodlawn Drive area to the Walmart.
The warrant stated that the suspect pointed a small black pistol at them through passenger side window in their direction.
The second incident apparently happened on Hidden Lake Court in Marietta.
Cooper is accused of following another driver on the road then into a residential area where he used his vehicle, a 2021 GMC Sierra, to block the other driver from leaving a cul-de-sac.

The second victim also accused Cooper of pointing a small black pistol at them on the road and while the suspect blocked their vehicle on the cul-de-sac.
Cobb County police later arrested Cooper at his home late Sunday night. They said they searched his truck and found a pipe containing a controlled substance.
Officers charged Cooper with two counts of aggravated assault with a weapon, false imprisonment and possession of cocaine. He remains in jail without bond.
