ROCKDALE COUNTY, Ga. — With just hours until kickoff, a metro Atlanta high school football game has been canceled.
Channel 2 Action News has learned that a game between Rockdale County High School and Heritage High School scheduled for 7:30 p.m. will not be played.

Our cameras were there as deputies were in the end zone.
Authorities told Channel 2 Action News that a fight between the two teams broke out around 5:45 p.m., and the game was canceled.
School district officials say the fight broke out on the field during pre-game warmups.
“We will take the necessary time to investigate the matter,” the school district said in a statement.

There is no word on whether anyone was hurt or will face charges.
It’s unclear if or when the game will be made up.
