17-year-old still missing along Chattahoochee after group of 10 tried to cross river

COBB COUNTY, Ga. — Cobb County emergency crews are trying to rescue a teenager in the Chattahoochee River near Roswell.

NewsChopper 2 flew over the river near Azalea Park, not far from Roswell Road. That is near the county line, between Cobb and Fulton counties.

Emergency officials said a group of 10 people, including teenagers, tried to swim across the river, with only eight of those people making it to the other side.

One of the two people who did not make it across the river, had to be rescued off a rock in the river.

Emergency officials are currently searching for the second person, a 17-year-old boy.
