COBB COUNTY, Ga. — Channel 2 Action News has learned a chase has blocked an exit ramp on I-75 SB in Cobb County.
The incident happened around 11 a.m. on Chastain Road.
Police told Channel 2's Chris Jose the chase started on Wade Green Road, while the driver was going 81 in a 55. The chase lasted for about a mile and a patrol sergeant told Jose the state trooper had his emergency lights on but the Audi kept on going, and lost control near the intersection.
The Audi smashed head-on into a utility pole.

Jose and his photographer were the only news crew there when Georgia State Patrol found a gun inside the car. Investigators are working to figure out where the driver and the passenger were headed and why they refused to stop.
"We're just trying to enforce the law and it's just a bad situation," said Sgt. Johnny Ensley with Georgia State Patrol.
Two people were taken to the hospital after the vehicle crashed into a pole, according to Georgia State Patrol.
Concerned drivers told us they're thankful the state trooper wasn't hurt in the chase.
"It only shows where this world is going, at this point. I mean, that's pretty messed up. Overall, that's just messed up," a driver told us.
Georgia State Patrol has not released the names of the driver and his passenger. Both are in police custody while they recover at the hospital.
