More than 1.6 million people expected to travel through Atlanta airport for Labor Day holiday

CLAYTON COUNTY, Ga — More than 1.6 million passengers are expected to travel to, from, or through Hartsfield-Jackson Airport for the Labor Day weekend.

Projections from the airport predict Friday will be the busiest day of travel, with more than 300,000 passengers expected to visit the world’s busiest airport.

The airport advises travelers to arrive at least two hours before their flight time and to thoroughly inspect their luggage. Travelers can monitor the airport’s website and social media channels of their specific airlines to learn the latest on flight times, including delays and cancellations.
