New Children's Healthcare of Atlanta CEO talks to Channel 2 Dr. Patrick Frias sat down with Channel 2's Linda Stouffer to discuss his goals and vision for Children's Healthcare of Atlanta.

A new era for Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta begins as Dr. Patrick Frias takes over as the healthcare system’s chief executive officer.

Frias is no stranger to Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta. He previously served as its chief operating officer, chief physician officer and cardiologist.

With his new role, Dr. Frias will focus on a goal of making sure every child in metro Atlanta is within 30 minutes of a Children’s provider.

“We have such an amazing opportunity to be able to care for all the kids of Georgia,” Frias told Channel 2’s Linda Stouffer.

Children’s also announced Monday that it recently purchased land in Sandy Springs to expand.

The healthcare system said it plans to announce more about that Sandy Springs location later, along with plans to expand existing locations and add new sites to meet community needs.
