CHEROKEE COUNTY, Ga. — One person received a minor injury in a house fire Saturday, the Cherokee County Fire & Emergency Services said.

The fire happened on Hollyberry Way near the intersection with Hollybush Court in northeast Cherokee County.
Firefighters encountered heavy fire in the garage. Fire crews attacked the blaze and were able to stop it from spreading to the rest of the house.
The homeowner’s injury was evaluated at the scene.
“We remind residents to check smoke detectors in the home regularly and replace the batteries every year,” the department said in a social media post.
