GLYNN COUNTY, Ga. — Police say they found a human skeleton near a popular Georgia vacation spot.

Glynn County police were called around 3:30 p.m. on Oct. 1 to a wooded area near Wellness Way on St. Simons Island after receiving a report of suspected human remains.
When officers arrived, they found what appeared to be human remains in a skeletal state, police said.

The remains will be sent to the Georgia Bureau of Investigation Crime Lab. Forensic teams are working to find out the identity of the person.
Investigators said the case remains ongoing.
