Brookhaven, Decatur police search for man wanted in robberies, attempted sexual assault

DEKALB COUNTY, Ga. — The police departments in Brookhaven and Decatur are asking the public’s help in finding a man who they say has committed multiple robberies and attempted to sexually assault a woman.

The departments have teamed up to help find the suspect.

Authorities said they believe the suspect committed robberies in both cities during the early morning of March 7.

Decatur police responded to a parking garage within the 200 block of East Trinity Place around 8 a.m. in response to a robbery and sexual assault.

The victim told police she had just arrived at the location and was approached by the suspect, who requested she help him enter the apartment building. The suspect then pointed a gun at the victim and demanded her belongings. After getting them, the suspect then attempted to sexually assault the victim but she fought back, forcing the suspect to run away. The woman received a minor injury to her head during the fight.

The suspect was described as a Black male, light complexion, approximately 5 feet 6 inches tall and weighed about 200 pounds. He was wearing gloves, a dark colored heavy jacket, a full-face mask and armed with a silver revolver.

The suspect then fled the scene in a red Cadillac CTS.

Later that day, Brookhaven police officers were called to the 4000 block of Summit Boulevard in response to an armed robbery.

The victim told police as she was entering into the parking deck, a red in color Cadillac attempted to follow her through the gate. The vehicle was stopped by the articulating barrier blocking the suspect from entering.

A short time after, a man wearing blue pants, a blue over black hoodie, blue face covering, and a black North Face jacket entered the parking deck and robbed the victim. The suspect had a silver revolver and began hitting the victim several times on the head with the gun before getting back to his vehicle and leaving the scene.

Detectives from both agencies have been working together to identify the owner of the photographed Cadillac as well as the photographed suspect.
