EATONTON, Ga. — The body of a 76-year-old Milledgeville man was recovered from a middle Georgia lake.

Putnam County Sheriff Howard Sills said the body of George Williams recovered from Lake Sinclair at 2:55 p.m. Thursday.
The recovery followed a multi-agency search for the missing boater that resumed at daylight Thursday morning.
Emergency personnel used sonar technology and underwater robotic equipment to find Williams in the water.
Sills oversaw the multi-agency public safety response across the area. Participating organizations included the Baldwin County Public Safety Dive Team, the Georgia Department of Natural Resources, Putnam County Fire Rescue and Baldwin County Fire Rescue.
