CARTERSVILLE, Ga. — A crumbling historic building has made it necessary for officials to temporarily close Main Street (State Route 113) in Cartersville.

Main Street between Erwin Street and Public Square in downtown Cartersville is closed and has been since Tuesday.
Crews are set to work on stabilizing the structure.
The Main Street closure is anticipated to remain in place for roughly 24 hours, while the Georgia Department of Transportation makes a final determination.
