ATLANTA — A mobile tech lab is helping to get whole communities ready for jobs of the future.
On Tuesday morning, the Channel 2 Action News parking lot transformed into a high-tech classroom thanks to Rodney Bullard, CEO of the nonprofit Same House.
“We’re concerned that our communities will be left behind,” Bullard said.
Bullard told Channel 2’s Lori Wilson that Same House has a mission to make sure that people in undersourced communities are prepared for the future, so along with Microsoft, they partnered with mobile tech classroom, TLab, to teach people the skills they need to work in growing digital industries.
“As we race down this digital revolution, there are some communities that may feel intimidated, and we want to alleviate that,” Bullard said.
TLab founder Rob Harden, and his son Cory, built the mobile classroom to drive tech education where it’s needed most.

Anything you can learn online, they teach.
“AI is just the tip of the iceberg. There are a lot of other disciplines that can be taught here, cybersecurity, we even want to do GED classes,” Harden said.
The mobile tech lab looks and feels special, and Harden said that’s how it makes visitors of all ages feel, too.
“To see the fourth graders run into this trailer and they see all the computers and all the lights, this doesn’t feel like a classroom anymore. It feels like they walked into something cool,” Harden said.
“We are bringing in children, we’re bringing in adults. That no child, no community is left behind in this sense, as we move into the future,” Bullard said.
