3 crashes shut down same stretch of I-285

3 crashes on I-285 Triple Team Traffic’s Mike Shields reports that there have been three crashes in the same stretch of Interstate 285 near MLK Jr. exit.

ATLANTA — Interstate 285 lanes are starting to move again after a series of early morning crashes shut them down.

Triple Team Traffic’s Mike Shields reports that three crashes happened in the same stretch of Interstate 285 near MLK Jr. exit.

The Georgia Department of Transportation’s 511 cameras showed multiple cars were involved in the crashes. A Channel 2 Action News photographer also saw tractor-trailers towed off to the side.

Crews started to reopen the lanes just before 4 a.m. and all lanes were moving again just after 4:30 a.m.

Channel 2 Action News has reached out to Atlanta Fire Rescue and Atlanta Police to confirm how many people are injured.
