WAYNESBORO, Ga. — An east Georgia police officer is being called a hero after he helped save a baby who had stopped breathing.

Waynesboro police Sgt. Harold Drummond was the first officer to arrive at the scene last month.

His body camera video captured the tense moments when he took the baby boy and began performing CPR on him in the parking lot of Dollar General store.

The child was so small, Drummond could only use two fingers to perform the lifesaving procedure.

On the bodycam video, you can hear Drummond repeatedly tell the baby, "You're OK," before the child starts crying after struggling to breathe.

The boy’s parents say they are grateful for the officer’s heroism.
