The event features over 30 decorated trees that are up for auction. There’s a shopping expo, too.
Join in on an old fashion Christmas! Head to downtown Clayton. Shops will be open until 8pm, with door prizes and special sales. There will be music, restaurants will be cooking up some fabulous food! In the evening there will be luminaries lining the streets!
The magic and charm of Christmas in Dahlonega begins with live holiday music performed by Kurt Thomas from the Visitor Center balcony from 5:30-7:00. The Tree and Square Lighting Ceremony will occur at 6:00pm! The event kicks off Dahlonega’s holiday offerings. Family-friendly holiday special activities include a festive parade, carriage rides (additional cost), visits with Santa, old-time carolers, a live nativity, and a Christmas production at the Holly Theatre. Visitors can even enjoy holiday shopping as Dahlonega’s eclectic selection of boutiques and merchants offer extended hours, Hancock Park will feature an Artists Market and The Dahlonega Women’s Club will host their annual Christmas Market on Candy Cane.
The event will include entertainment from world-class talent A-Town A-List. Mark Owens and Atlanta Braves’ mascot BLOOPER will watch the skies to help track Santa as he nears closer to The Battery Atlanta. Following the festivities, families may cuddle up on the green to watch the fifth film in the Xfinity Movie Series, The Grinch, on the plaza screen.

Event goers are invited to sip on hot cocoa, listen to holiday music, and stroll through the park while exploring gift items from approximately 175 artists including painters, photographers, sculptors, glass blowers, leather and metalworkers, jewelers, and crafters. Holiday trees and wreaths will also be available for purchase. The Piedmont Holiday Gift Market is free to attend for all ages and welcomes dogs.
Kick off the holiday season at Lenox Square with a visit from two of Santa’s reindeers! Visit outside Lenox Square’s main entrance for a special complimentary photo opportunity including Santa’s sleigh.
Nov. 29 - Dec. 2
Feel like walkin’ in a winter wonderland this holiday season? You’re in luck, as the University of West Georgia will host the inaugural Winter West Wonderland from Nov. 29 through Dec. 2 in Carrollton, just one hour west of Atlanta. This community event – free and open to everyone – will feature numerous opportunities to get in the holiday spirit, including lighted displays of student-built sculptures, a holiday market, and an opportunity to meet and take pictures with Kris Kringle and Winter Wolfie, UWG’s mascot.
Come see Santa and all the floats and vehicles in the annual parade in Clayton.
Experience the wonder of the holiday season at Halcyon Holiday Magic – with special guests, Santa, Anna, Elsa, Spiderman and Minnie and Mickey lookalikes! Everyone can enjoy cheerful holiday activities, including photo opportunities with Santa, free face painting and balloon animals. Emceed by Galaxy Music & Arts, the event will feature live entertainment from talented teen dancers and singers in the community. Stop by the interactive teddy bear tent sponsored by Northside Hospital where the little ones can take home their own teddy bear. This event is free and open to the community, but guests are encouraged to stuff the Forsyth County Fire Truck with new, unwrapped toys that will be donated to The Place of Forsyth Holiday House.
Caring Santa events provide a private Santa Photo opportunity for children and adults with special needs and their families. Visit Lenox Square on the Mall Level in Macy’s Court or the Mall of Georgia or at North Georgia Premium Outlets.
Head to Tallulah Gorge State Park at sunset to hunt candy canes! Afterwards, enjoy a holiday movie, s’mores, and hot chocolate. Space is limited and pre-registration is required. Please call the office to sign up. Meet at the Interpretive Center.
Pet photos with Santa
This event allows families to take photos with their beloved pets and our beloved Santa. Come out with all your pets to meet Santa at Lenox Square in the Macy’s Court or at the Mall of Georgia or at North Georgia Premium Outlets. Make magical memories this holiday season!
Grab your crew and join Halcyon for the fourth annual Ugly Christmas Sweater Bar featuring special guest, The Grinch! Don your tackiest Christmas sweater, enjoy holiday cocktails from bars and restaurants throughout the village. Take photos with the Grinch, and stick around for your chance to win gift cards to select Halcyon restaurants when the Grinch announces the three winners wearing the ugliest Christmas sweaters! All ticket proceeds will be donated to CASA of Forsyth.
Atlantic Station Menorah Lighting
Join Chabad Intown to celebrate Hanukkah with the traditional ceremony of the lighting of the Menorah. Family and friends can enjoy holiday-themed activities on Atlantic Green featuring traditional food and beverage offerings, live music, free giveaway items and more. Beginning Dec. 18 through Dec. 25, a candle will be lit each day to represent the eight nights of Hanukkah.
Ponce City Market Menorah Lighting
Join Ponce City Market and Chabad Intown for a traditional menorah lighting ceremony to celebrate the Festival of Lights! This year’s celebration will take place on The Yard with music, live entertainment and refreshments.

“Winter Wonderland: Celebrations & Traditions Around the World” will return to Fernbank from Nov. 19-Jan. 6, 2023, for its 13th year as a special exhibit. It will span two floors of the museum, showcasing different decorated trees and display cases that recognize various celebrations, events and cultural traditions from around the world.

Back for a sixth year, The Roof at Ponce City Market invites guests to “Skate the Sky.” Ten stories above Ponce de Leon Avenue, the Rooftop Terrace will feature a 3,500-square-foot ice skating rink open seven days a week.
