Local restaurant offers special ‘Coming 2 America’ meal called The McDowell

McDonald’s has the Big Mac with “two all-beef patties, special sauce, lettuce, cheese, pickles, onions – on a sesame seed bun.”

McDowell’s, the fictional fast food restaurant depicted in the 1988 film “Coming to America,” had the “Big Mick” with two all-beef patties, special sauce, lettuce, cheese, pickles and onions. But at McDowell’s, “My buns have no seeds,” Cleo McDowell told Prince Akeem and Semmi in the movie.

To celebrate the arrival of sequel “Coming 2 America,” Atlanta restaurant Local Three plans to offer The McDowell Family meal on Friday, March 5. The meal includes two angus beef patties, special sauce, lettuce, cheese, pickles and onions on a bun with no seeds. It comes with fries, mixed green salad with green goddess dressing and dessert. The meal is available for two or four people.

“Coming 2 America” debuts on Amazon Prime on Friday.
