ATLANTA — For a few months in 2021, during the Atlanta Braves World Series championship run, Joc Pederson was the toast of the town. Braves fans young and old could be seen sporting the string of pearls that the popular and colorful outfielder sported during his three-month tenure at Truist Park.

As baseball players often do, Pederson moved on from Atlanta after the season but now finds himself returning to the Peach State as a member of the San Francisco Giants.
The Braves and Giants begin a four-game series Monday night in Atlanta and it will be the first time that Pederson has returned to face many of his former teammates. The Braves have given each player who played on the 2021 team an opportunity to get their ring the first time they return to Atlanta during the season.

Pederson has gotten plenty of playing time this season with the 38-27 Giants. He’s hitting .267 with 14 home runs and 36 RBI’s in the early going. San Francisco currently sits three games behind the National League West leading-Los Angeles Dodgers.
The Braves return home after spending a week on the road. They beat the Chicago Cubs 6-0 on Sunday, ending a short two-game losing streak.
Heading into Monday night’s game with the Giants, the Braves are 15-2 in the month of June and currently sit 5.5 games behind the National League East-leading New York Mets.
It’s a big week for the Braves. On Friday, they’ll welcome home former team captain and 1B Freddie Freeman when the Los Angeles Dodgers come to Atlanta to square off with the defending world champs.
