4 Braves named finalists for Gold Glove award — but 1 was snubbed

ATLANTA — Less than a week after a disappointing playoff exit, several members of the Atlanta Braves have been named finalists for the annual Gold Glove Awards.

Award sponsor Rawlings announced on Thursday that shortstop Dansby Swanson, first baseman Matt Olson, pitcher Max Fried and catcher Travis d’Arnaud are all among three finalists at their position in the National League.

Both Fried and Olson have won the award previously. Fried won the award in 2020 and 2021, while Olson won it in 2018 and 2019 with his former team the Oakland Athletics.

A surprising omission was rookie centerfielder Michael Harris Jr., who made some dazzling catches in his rookie season with the Braves. Gold Glove named the Padres’ Trent Grisham, Nationals’ Victor Robles and Diamondbacks’ Alek Thomas as the finalists.
