The reason is the mirror glass can detach and reduce a driver’s visibility, the NHTSA said.

The heating pads behind the side-view mirrors may not be bonded correctly and could allow the mirror to come off.

The affected vehicles include certain Hondas in the following make and model years:

  • 2020-2021 Pilot
  • 2020-2021 Ridgeline
  • 2020-2022 Passport
  • 2020-2022 Odyssey

The 330,318 vehicles that are under recall account for about 1% of the makes and model years sold and were produced between Jan. 3, 2020, and July 23, 2021, according to the NHTSA report.

Dealers will replace both side-view mirrors for free. Owners will start receiving letters if their vehicles are part of the recall starting on May 8.
