Man Arrested After Shots Fired, Standoff

GWINNETT COUNTY, Ga. — A SWAT standoff in Gwinnett County ended late Saturday night.

Police at the scene told Channel 2 Action News that the standoff began as a domestic dispute at the Bridgewater apartments off Satellite Boulevard in Duluth just before 11 p.m.

Police responded to reports of gunfire. When SWAT Team members arrived, a man had holed himself up in his apartment, police said.

"There was a short negotiation period where they made contact with the male suspect. He had thrown his gun outside the apartment, opened up the door and voluntarily came back outside where he was placed under arrest," said Mark Wyman of the Gwinnett County Police Department.

The man, Daniel Morgan, was charged with aggravated assault.

The victim was not hurt.
