DEKALB COUNTY, Ga. — The remnants of Hurricane Isaias are bringing down trees across metro Atlanta. One tree crashed onto a woman’s home on Samaria Court in DeKalb County overnight, causing significant damage.
The homeowner, Andrea Corbett, said she was asleep in a back bedroom when the tree came down.
“I was asleep and all of a sudden I heard a crash. I knew it was a tree. I got up. I couldn’t see out of the window and I started to panic,” Corbett told Channel 2’s Michael Seiden.

Corbett said she couldn’t get out through her front door and got out through the side and called 911. She said firefighters arrived within minutes.
The fire department turned off power to the home as a safety measure, but the rest of the neighborhood appeared to still have power.
Corbett said she called the Red Cross, but it is waiting for the storm to pass before it can come out to provide assistance.
