Woman out exercising fights of man who grabbed her from behind, tried to assault her

SENOIA, Ga. — Senoia Police Department needs your help with an investigation after a woman reported to officer that she was attacked from behind Sunday night.

She said the incident happened around 10 p.m. while she was on Travis Street.

The victim was between Clark and Bridge streets walking when a man grabbed her from behind and attempted to sexually assault her, according to police.

The woman was walking to get some exercise when the incident occurred. She was able to fight her attacker off, according to police.

Senoia Police Department are asking anyone who may have noticed anything odd or suspicious in the downtown area, including around Senoia Post Office, the railroad tracks and Gin Street to contact Det. Lt. James McCue at (770) 599-3256, Ext. 103 or email jmccue@senoia.gov.

Senoia police is encouraging its citizens who are out past dark either walking, exercising to have a partner and take reasonable precautions to protect yourself if necessary.
