BARROW COUNTY, Ga. — Emergency responders are at the scene of a convenience store where a dump truck crashed through the front wall Tuesday.
NewsChopper 2 flew overhead as people looked at the damage outside the Super H on Monroe Highway in Bethlehem.
A store clerk had minor injuries and was taken to the hospital, the Barrow County Sheriff’s Office said. The driver had minor scratches on his hand.
Investigators said it appears the truck had a mechanical issue that caused the crash.

The driver said it lost power, and he lost the ability to properly steer or stop the truck.
The dump truck also hit a power pole before hitting the building, the sheriff’s office said.
Georgia Power was also notified and responded to the scene.
The sheriff’s office and utility crews have remained to ensure the scene is safe.
People are asked to use caution when traveling through the area and to avoid the immediate scene when possible.
The incident remains under investigation.
