BARTOW COUNTY, Ga. — The Bartow County Sheriff’s Office announced the arrest of a 34-year-old, Jamal Davis, Sunday following a shooting at a Cartersville residence that left one person dead and another hospitalized.

Deputies responded around 7 a.m. to a report of a shooting in the 65 block of Hamilton Boulevard. When officers arrived, they found two people shot inside the home.

Investigators say a 37-year-old man was pronounced dead at the scene. Paramedics transported a 27-year-old woman to a local hospital to receive treatment for her injuries.
Deputies arrested Davis at the scene of the incident. Authorities booked Davis into the Bartow County Jail on an aggravated assault charge, with additional charges pending.
The Bartow County Sheriff’s Office Criminal Investigations Division is leading the investigation into the shooting.
